NIEM implements a scalable, multi-domain dictionary and data model; generates eXtensible Markup Language specifications for standard consensus-based information objects (>10,000) and relationships. Enables multiple domains at all government levels to share information in standard form. Allows local data autonomy, and facilitates shared information accuracy and interoperability. Enables users to govern and evolve the data model to meet new or changing requirements.
