The Communications Systems and Spectrum Division (CSSD) is focused on researching and developing robust and secure communication solutions for use in Tactical environments as well as real-time visualization software to facilitate Mission Planning. Four primary technology areas are combined to provide the essential elements required by tomorrow’s warfighter: advanced communications systems, intelligent networks adaptable to environmental data in real-time, secure virtualized networks and sophisticated visualization aides. CSSD combines cutting-edge software defined radio (SDR) platforms, EW capabilities, in-house secure laboratories and real-world RF deployment expertise with solutions from leading commercial providers, including advanced SDR platforms and 5G / FutureG systems, to provide warfighters with relevant and real-time information in order to succeed in their missions.
